Photo Essay: Palawan in Black & White

Think of the Philippines and the first thing that will pop into mind will be emerald blue waters back-dropped by lush jungle-capped mountains that rise elegantly from the ocean and days on end of island-hopping around this paradisiacal archipelago.

It is only when you arrive here that you realize that the epic scenery is just the cherry on top of the other blissfully perfect aspects that force everyone to keep coming back – the sheer happiness found in every-day situations, the vast culture, the amazingly happy Pinoys, the welcoming smiles and everything else in-between.

Photographer Ondrej Lednicky traveled to Palawan and the black and white photographs he is sending back to us prove just that. Take the bright hues of blues and greens away and Palawan still manages to stand out from the crowd.
